“When developing copylock my ultimate goal was to create a system that couldn’t be cracked.”
Rob Northen developed one of the toughest video game copy-protection schemes for 16-bit computers. The first version of Copylock launched on Atari ST in 1987. Northen ported the system swiftly to Amiga and, in 1990, to PC. Copylock was a popular choice for developers and distributors – it was implemented on around 500 Amiga games alone.
