The Atari Power Pack

The Atari Power Pack

Atari Power Pack offered unbeatable value when it hit the stores in 1989. It was a no-brainer. Atari managed to pack no less than twenty entertaining games in one compilation, which came bundled with the Atari 520ST.

When you consider Atari were able to sell the pack for 399,99 GBP (939 GBP / 1156 USD / 1098 EUR in 2022 with inflation) it's suddenly not a big surprise why so many Brits owned STs at the turn of the 1990s.

The Power Pack was a great, easy and relatively low-cost way to acquire a 16-bit system and start a games collection. Sure, some of the titles were not timeless classics and in Germany Predator was "killed" by the index and you could find Winter Olympiad 88 in the package instead. But almost all of them provided hours of fun. And again, which other computer or console has been bundled with such a massive library of games?
